POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Own your territory and drive growth: Develop and execute a clear sales strategy for Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Build your pipeline and take full ownership of your commercial results.
Be a true hunter: Identify, approach and win new customers. You are expected to open doors, create opportunities and actively build new business rather than rely on an established customer base or incoming leads. Our customers span demanding industries including aerospace, defence, automotive, medical, high-tech and energy/oil & gas.
Win complex, high-value deals: Build relationships with decision-makers, engineers and other key stakeholders, understand their challenges and turn opportunities into successful business. Our solutions are technically complex and sales cycles can be long, so persistence, commercial drive and the ability to navigate complex buying processes are essential.
Grow existing business: Develop key accounts by identifying new applications, projects and repeat-order opportunities and turn successful customer relationships into long-term business.
Own the sales process end-to-end: Qualify leads, create and manage opportunities and drive the sales process independently from first contact through contract signing. Manage your sales funnel, maintain accurate CRM data and provide reliable forecasts.
Sell value, not just technology: Understand customer challenges and translate complex technical solutions into clear business value. Confidently present our company and technology to customers and represent Nikon SLM at trade shows, conferences and customer events.
Build the business: Identify new market opportunities, take ownership of strategic sales projects and continuously develop your territory. You will have significant freedom to shape your approach with the expectation to make things happen.
Win as a team: Work closely with Business Development, Application Engineering, Service & Support and Inside Sales to successfully develop and close opportunities. Where relevant, coach and support channel partners.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
At least 3 years of professional experience in sales of capital equipment, production systems, industrial solutions or comparable technical products (Experience selling industrial production systems, manufacturing equipment or other technical capital goods is highly preferred)
Bachelor’s degree or comparable educational background in engineering, business, technology or a related field; relevant professional experience may be considered as an alternative
Strong technical understanding and the ability to quickly understand complex technologies and translate them into customer value
A genuine hunter mentality: You are motivated by opening doors, creating new opportunities and winning new customers. You do not simply manage an existing customer base, you actively build your business.
Resilience and persistence: You are comfortable with complex sales processes, long sales cycles, demanding customers and setbacks. You keep pushing when things get difficult.
Commercial and entrepreneurial drive: You take ownership of your territory, are motivated by results and enjoy the challenge of building and growing a business.
Consultative sales approach with the ability to understand customer needs and position the right technical and commercial solution
Experience selling to manufacturing, engineering or other technical customers
Experience in additive manufacturing, industrial automation, machine tools or another advanced manufacturing technology is a strong advantage
Strong communication and negotiation skills with the confidence to engage with both technical stakeholders and senior decision-makers
Ability to manage multiple opportunities independently and navigate complex buying processes
Experience working with international customers and/or channel partners is a plus
Native-level German. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (approx. 50% travel)
