Senior Scientist in the field of additive manufacturing Full Time

To support our motivated team in the Laser and Plasma Processing research group, we are filling the following position with immediate effect, based in Niklasdorf.

Senior Scientist in the field of additive manufacturing

Your responsibilities will focus on the following areas

• Responsibility for the research topic of additive manufacturing of metals
• Acquisition and management of research projects focussing on applied research in the field of additive manufacturing (AM) (selective laser melting (SLM) and laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF))
• Strategic further development of the topic embedded in the research group and institute strategy
• Planning and monitoring of experimental work on our powder bed systems and material characterisation of additively manufactured samples and components
• Supervision of project staff in the design of components, process parameter determination for new materials and the simulation of 3D printing processes
• Responsibility for carrying out AM production orders and material characterisations for customers
• Documentation of project results, reporting
• Presentations and scientific publications

Your qualifications

• relevant university degree (materials science, materials or production engineering, mechanical engineering, physics), preferably with a PhD
• experience in additive manufacturing of metals
• good connections in the national and international professional environment
• high interest in scientific work and methodological developments
• very good command of English and German
• independent and reliable way of working
• strong analytical skills

• according to the valid collective agreement a monthly gross salary of € 4,594.07,- , on a full-time basis, payable 14 times per year (aliquot) – depending on previous experience and qualifications there is readiness for a higher remuneration
