About us
Batch.Works is a circular manufacturing company.
Our mission is to change the way parts are made, creating practical and viable circular manufacturing practices through smart technology and sustainable methods.
Our vision is to be the leading supplier of sustainable production and manufacturing capabilities to brands and designers around the world.
We are a rapidly growing business and we expect to expand into exciting new projects across multiple countries.
About the role
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with deep technical knowledge of FDM technology and proven experience building and repairing a wide variety of printers — from ReRap based systems through to fully custom builds. If you spend your weekends modding 3D printers, or troubleshooting firmware, this could be the perfect role for you.
As a 3D Print Fleet Technician you will take responsibility for the performance and maintenance of the Batch.Works printer fleet, ensuring maximum uptime and consistent product quality. You will work closely with the Design and Production Teams, and support the R&D department on machine builds and prototypes.
In addition to hands-on repairs and troubleshooting, you will play a key role in shaping how Batch.Works manages its fleet by establishing and documenting scalable maintenance processes and best practices that can be rolled out as we grow.
Responsibilities
Ensure maximum uptime of the Batch.Works printer fleet
Carry out regular maintenance checks and preventative servicing
Diagnose and repair hardware and mechanical issues across multiple machines
Build, strip down, and modify printers including Prusa, Voron, RatRig, and custom-built machines
Establish and document maintenance processes and workflows for the fleet, ensuring they can scale as the company grows
Support the R&D team on prototype and machine builds
Help Batch.Works deliver high-quality products to our customers
Stay up to date with the latest advances in 3D printing hardware, firmware, and community developments
Contribute to continuous improvement of machine performance, workflow, and quality assurance
Requirements
Proven, hands-on experience building, stripping down, and repairing a wide range of FDM printers
Deep technical understanding of FDM technology (mechanical, electrical, and firmware)
Experience working with Prusa, Voron, RatRig, and custom-built machines
Ability to diagnose not only what has failed, but also why — using structured problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail with a methodical, data-driven approach
Confident communicator, able to adapt to the needs of Design, Production, and R&D teams
Desirables (Nice to Have)
Degree in engineering, design, or a related discipline
Experience in a production print-farm environment
Knowledge of automation, multi-machine management, and slicer optimisation
Practical abilities in CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, Rhino)
Background in electronics/mechatronics (e.g., soldering, wiring, board replacement)
Experience testing or integrating new materials for FDM printing

Eager to join a collaborative team
Hard-working and self-starting
Curious and proactive in learning new technical knowledge
Passionate about making the circular economy a reality
