Technology Innovation Engineer for Additive Manufacturing Full Time

Core Responsibilities

• Build Development: Responsible for developing build jobs for our AM technologies to investigate and develop AM technologies, materials, and processes towards sufficient part quality.
• Scouting & Research: Engage in scouting and research to stay updated on the latest advancements and continuously support our AM activities.
  Process Development: Support in testing and developing new AM technologies and processes by conduct methodical experiments to analyze and determine technology capabilities.
• Collaboration & Communication: Collaborating with multi-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, materials scientists, and manufacturing technicians, and provide scientifically sound data to our partners and internal customers to develop additive manufacturing solutions.
• Documentation & Implementation: Assist in documenting processes, procedures, and outcomes for information sharing and future reference to ensure a successful handover to the team’s leading maturing and scaling.
• Capabilities Building: Support in building capabilities to develop and improve AM skills, knowledge, and expertise to expand our AM program and meeting organizational goals.

Additive Design & Manufacturing (AD&M) is developing and maturing Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies in the LEGO Group. We are focusing on the research and development of design methodologies and technologies, production technologies, materials, and applications. The department is mainly focusing on polymer AM production for different applications in close collaboration with different partners. The aim is pushing and driving the AM industry and its technologies towards true large-scale manufacturing.

You will join our AD&M Innovation & Technology Development team, which involves working with Additive Manufacturing technologies and processes on various readiness levels. These include scouting of new, emerging AM technologies, experiments with Proof of Concepts to demonstrate its technical feasibility, up to validating and demonstrating the technology’s capability, benefits, and performance under representative conditions in a relevant environment. You will conduct thorough assessments, analyses, and validation studies to understand the technical capabilities, performance, and potential limitations of the technology.

Do you have what it takes?

• Strong analytical skills and able to analyze, understand and illustrate data.
• Problem-solving skills to solve technical issues, identify root causes of problems and propose effective solutions.
• Ability to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Basic knowledge in computer-aided design (CAD) software to create or modify simple 3D models for testing AM technologies.
• The ability to work self-directed, take initiatives and being proactive.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in English both verbally and written
