Senior Manager – AM Innovation & Tech Development Full Time

Core Responsibilities

As Senior AM Manager you are essential for the success of LEGO Group’s AM program as it ensure that we develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of technologies that have the potential of step changing our AM capabilities. To be specific you will:

• Ensure high motivation and happiness for our employees, focus on their development and create a winning team spirit
• Drive Additive Design & Manufacturing’s (AD&M) innovation processes with structured frameworks such as technology radar and mapping, Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), funnel processes, etc.
• Establish and lead strategic partnerships with leading AM research centers and universities, as well as be first point of contact for new supplier collaboration opportunities.
• Aid in shaping the AD&M strategy and set direction on tactical activities
• Take a leading role in growing our internal partners capabilities and understanding of AM while driving Change Management and establish vital processes for success
• Be a leader in the industry and help craft a total eco-system that will deliver to TLG’s requirements
• Work with the team to discover, refine and implement the practices that will enable the AD&M Innovation & Tech Development team to deliver within each sprint/goal
• Help the team with removing impediments and actively work throughout the organization to mature processes for delivery

Based from our office in Billund, you will lead the AD&M Innovation & Tech Development team responsible for scouting and developing new and novel AM technologies and materials. Additionally, this team is spearheading AD&M’s innovation effort and therefore responsible for our partnerships and technology mapping.

We are part of Additive Design & Manufacturing (AD&M), a big and diverse team focusing on the development of Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies. Our aim is pushing and driving the AM industry and its technologies towards true large scale manufacturing!

Do you have what it takes?

We imagine you bring 3-5 years of proven experience in excellent team and people leadership. You have strong collaboration skills and ability to build an impact in a diverse context across many different functional areas and profiles. In addition, you have:

• Experience in the Additive Manufacturing industry and a good understanding of its potential and challenges
• Proven experience in early technology development projects or programs (TRL 3-6)
• A proactive and can-do approach to leadership and partnerships and the ability to have oversight of a diverse project portfolio
• Strong strategic orientation and excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in English

Additive Design & Manufacturing (AD&M) is focusing on the development of Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies. The team is focusing on the research and development of design methodologies and technologies, production technologies, materials, and applications. Additionally, the team is responsible for developing AM skills, competences, and capabilities throughout the company, as well develop and standardize processes and organizational structures.

The AD&M Innovation & Tech Development team is responsible for the scounting and developing of new and novel AM technologies and materials. Additionally, this team is spear heading AD&M’s innovation effort and therefore responsible for our partnerships and technology mapping.

This role is vital for the success of the total program as it ensure that we develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of AM technologies that have the potential of step changing our AM capabilities at The LEGO Group.
